(Sorry I have been a little tiny bit MIA-- life has gotten busy!  And I have something very exciting to share with you so keep on coming by for more information about my very first give away, my upcoming European travel, and my birthday haul!)

If good skin is the best foundation for make-up, then good brushes are the best tools to apply it with.  During the Sephora sale I picked up some new brushes that have quickly become a part of my every day routine!  There's something about a handful of quality brushes that just makes make-up application so fun.  And really, the process is just as enjoyable as the result!

56, 79, 73
Cream Blush, Contour, Highlight

Each of these brushes has a long, slim black handle and a silver coloured clasp holding the brush together.  They are a comfortable weight and are easy to use.  All things considered these brushes are approximately the same size.  I feel like an artist every time I use one!

56 is designed as a foundation brush, but as a beauty blender kind of girl, I doubt a brush will ever apply my foundation again!  I enjoy using this brush to apply cream blush.  It is wonderfully soft and dense, and picks up just the right amount of product for an easy to build glow.  This brush is a game changer for me: it entirely changed the application process, and the natural glowey-ness of my blush game!  I love how easy it is to build from a sheer glow to a ready-to-party flush.  I can't recommend this brush enough!

Tip: Apply your cream blush in gently downwards strokes starting two finger widths from your nose, blending out to your hairline.  It lifts your face, builds a beautiful glow, and looks natural but polished!

79 is a long tapered contour brush.  Since this little guy joined my collection I have been loving the softer contours I am able to create for daily wear.  I find a few back and forths in the hollow of my cheek followed by pulling the brush towards my chin manages to create a look that is soft but defined.  This brush is easy to use, and slim enough to keep the contour targeted where you want it to go.  This is a brush best used with powder products.

Tip: Use a cool toned, non-shimmery bronzer or powder to make your contour look like a real shadow.

Don't tell the others, but 73 is my favourite of the Sephora brushes I picked up during the sale.  It is (comparably) wide, flat, and tapered.  Perfect for highlighting!  I love that I have taken to using smaller brushes because I find it makes my look more elegant, targeted and natural.  I like to sweep this from the apples of my cheeks up to my temple in a sweeping "C" shape to lift my face and add some light under my eyes.

Tip: My favourite highlighter is the Laura Mercier Matte Radience Baked Powder in "01 Highlight".  I love that is it shimmery without being glittery, that it lasts all day, and that it looks so beautiful in the package!

So there you have it.  My brand new three brushes.  I love each of them, and have used each every day since I purchased them.  They have changed my make-up routine and I can't wait to take them with me on my next trip!

I will admit that I have been working late these last two weeks, so I have been unable to take photos in the sunlight which explains my lack of posts.  Looking forward to sharing my recent purchases with each of you
