Yesterday it really hit me: fall is here!  I was walking between shops downtown and I was chilly.  Suddenly Aritzia's fall collection looked that much more appealing.  With the shift from shorts to scarves also comes changes to my make-up line up.  I've been (slowly) swapping bright red-oranges for deeper berry shades, and moving from shimmery shadows towards matte.  Today I am sharing with you one of my fall favourites: Too Faced's Natural Matte Neutral Eyeshadow Collection*!
While this shadow palette isn't new, it is new to my collection!  It retails for $51 CAD on Too Faced's website (ps.  Sign up on their site and get 20% off your first order!) or for $45 CAD on Sephora's website.

It comes cased in a sturdy little metal tin with pretty gold and lace inspired detailing.

They also include a little guide book with some suggested ways to use the palette for both day and night.  The shadows are nicely grouped into horizontal themes.  But don't let suggested uses get in the way of what works best for you!

Don't mind my cell phone case!  I think I'm wearing Julep April on my nails.

The palette includes a small mirror that is useful for on the go touch ups.

As you can see this palette includes a nice selection of exclusively matte shadows ranging from taupes, roses, browns and plum.  My two favourites shades are "Cashmere Bunny" and "Nudie".  What can I say?  I am a huge fan of the taupe shades.  I love that the shades I use to apply over my whole lid are the largest.  I like that when I (inevitably) hit pan on "Heaven" I won't need to toss this palette away to replace it!

The shadows are of great quality.  They manage to be matte with out being chalky, and are pretty easy to blend.  While a matte neutral palette has year round functionality, there is something about a palette like this that is just perfect for fall!  I love that I can make subtle looks, and then easily transition to the evening.  This is also great to wear to work, for those very reasons.

To get this look I applied Too Faced Shadow Insurance* over my lids.  Then I applied "Heaven" from brow bone to lash line, making sure to cover everywhere that I applied primer.  Using a big fluffy shadow brush I applied "Cashmere Bunny" in my crease, dragging it to the middle of my eyelid.  Using a slightly smaller shadow brush I applied "Sexpresso" just in the far crease of my eyelid.  I blended it together using "Nudie", and applied "Nudie" to just my lid.  I then grabbed my favourite brown eyeliner to line my eyes, and finished it off with Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara (that I had previously purchased).

What can I say?  I feel pretty wearing this!

What are your favourite matte shadows?  Excited about any new fall releases?

xoxo Happy Fall!

    1. Hahaha agreed on the names! I love it when make-up companies have some fun with how they name things.
