custom mac palette cost

So despite February being extra long this year (hello Leap Year!) I've still managed to put this off until the last possible minute.  As a quick recap, every month I am purchasing a single MAC eyeshadow (in January I started with a base of 3 and then added 1 for January) such that by December 2016 I will have 15 eyeshadows for a completed 100% customized palette.  This month I purchased "Woodwinked".  Keep reading for my thoughts on this shadow!

My Trip to Smooth Wax Bar in Toronto*

smooth was bar toronto discount

Earlier this month I was invited for a complimentary waxing service of my choice at Smooth Wax Bar in Liberty Village, Toronto.  Given that those services can get pricey, I figured, why not? They claimed that it "maximum smoothness with minimum ouch".  So look, I was a little sceptical, but all in the name of blogging, right?

Empties & Tosses 2016 | Volume 2

As some of you may know, I am in the process of moving.  And what better time to clear out my stash than now?  This post has some empties and some tosses.  Because if you can recall buying a foundation in high school, and you have now graduated University, you probably don't want to put it on your face.  Who knew how many old things filter to the bottom of the pile and the back of the drawer?!

Clean Reserve | Blonde Rose*

clean reserve blonde rose review

Recently CLEAN launched a new line of fragrances that is a bit of a departure from their usual niche. While traditionally CLEAN fragrances remind me of fresh laundry in the very best possible way (Warm Cotton, Cool Cotton, Cashmere, etc.), CLEAN Reserve includes fresh, crisp and unique blends such as Terra Woods, Smoked Vetiver, Amber Saffron, and several others.  I was interested to see that Rain, Skin, and Warm Cotton are also available as Reserve blends.  I was fortunate enough to have Blonde Rose land on my desk, which is the scent that I was most drawn to on name alone.

Doesn't it always seem that Canada gets the short end of the beauty stick?  Higher prices.  Less events.  And don't even get me started about shipping costs! Well, IPSY is making things a little bit better by bringing Generation Beauty to Toronto!

#CBBFoolproofblend by Demeter | Playing With Perfume*

Once I was at the department store testing out different perfumes.  The guy working one of the counters came up to me and asked "how many perfumes do you own" and I answered (at the time) "About five".  He said "You probably only own two different perfumes, but five different brands.  You own five brands of perfume".  What he went on to say was that most consumers love the same scent profile and so they buy it over and over and over again.  While I make no apologies for my collection (which I will get into later), this conversation came to mind when I took a whiff of my favourite scent that I will be sharing with you today: Jasmine.

Chanel Rouge coco lipstick Mademoiselle

I love starting any post about Chanel makeup with a quote.  Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.  I think that quote really sums up how I felt about this lipstick at first swatch.  Beautiful, understated, simple, perfect.

Winterlicious is one of my favourite things about winter in Toronto.  This year, between January 29th and February 11th some of Toronto's best and most up and coming restaurants put on a special Price Fix menu for lunch and dinner. Prices range between $18 and $28 for lunch and $25 and $45 for dinner.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Concentrated Crayon

So I have to be honest... drug store brands are really upping their game lately!  I have a few Maybelline Colour Tattoos kicking around, and was pleased to find out that they were releasing them as a crayon.  Personally I find that set up to be a bit easier for on-the-go shadow.

As Coco Chanel once said "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.".  Well...If this highlighter isn't classy and fabulous than I simply don't know what is.
