When I think about Guerlain two thoughts come to mind: effortless bronze beauty, and one of my all time favourite scents, La Petite Robe Noire. This French perfume and cosmetics brand is among the oldest in the world. Today I am reviewing two of their summer 2017 releases: the Terracotta Sun Trio Bronzing Contour Palette and the Terracotta Bronzing Powder.

I think we can all agree that summer in Toronto this year has been anything but sunny. That being said, these bronzers have me thinking back to wonderful afternoons last month in the French Riviera and strolling through Paris. They also have me day dreaming of my next vacation -- I would love to go to south Florida over the winter!

Each of these powders comes in a pretty tortoise shell plastic compact. The compact feels slim in my hands-- not needlessly bulky in any way. Each compact includes a mirror.

I was sent the Terracotta Bronzing Powder in shade "03 Naturel - Brunettes" from a shade range of 7 bronzers. This bronzer has a very subtle gold shimmer to it. For that reason I like to use it as a finishing product to add warmth along the high points of my face. This powder is really soft and I can tell how finely milled it is. It has a soft powdered scent that my nose can't quite place, but the elegant scent is described as "a joyful blend of bergamot and mandarin blended with sunny, feminine notes of gardenia—and the woody, vanilla notes create a hint of mystery.". I find that this powder works best with a more coarse brush -- my soft, synthetic brushes don't pick it up well. At first pass it is sheer, but it is easy to build up to your desired coverage.

This product retails for $63 an can be purchased at Sephora, or any Guerlain boutique.

The Terracotta Sun Trio Bronzing Contour Palette is my favourite of the two bronzers. I love this product because of how versatile it is -- it doubles to create a lovely eye look in a pinch! This matte palette comes in three shades and I was sent "Natural" which is the medium shade. It has the same elegant scent I described about the Terracotta Bronzing Powder. This palette contains a light shade, a medium shade and a dark shade. You can either use the shades separately or blended together.

For this easy everyday summer look I used MAC's new Next to Nothing Face Colour in "Light Plus" as my foundation. Using the darker shade of the Terracotta Sun Trio Bronzing Contour Palette I contoured my face. I used the lighter shade all over my eyelid, the darker shade in my crease, and the medium shade to blend. I then used the Terracotta Bronzing Powder in the "3" shape around my face. I finished the look off with a pop of Tarte's Exposed blush, some highlighter, winged liner (by Tom Ford) and mascara (by Make Up Forever). On my lips is one of the new NYX Pin Up Pout lipsticks in "Boundless".

As you can probably tell I love how lightweight and luxurious these Guerlain bronzers are. Because they are not too glittery I think they would work well on skin at any age (I know my mom wants me to bring these to play with next time I visit her!). And because they are so buildable, I know I will be using them into the fall as my tan begins to fade.

Have you had a chance to try any great bronzers this summer?

These products were sent for review. Opinions remain my own.
