Recently I had the opportunity to attend the Essence Fall/Winter 2016 Launch. At the event they launched a whole bunch of new products and new shades, at a beautiful venue that gave me a plant shopping list a mile long.  Keep reading for a review on one of my favourite new products: The BB Beauty Balm Lipgloss.

The event was held at Crown Flora Studios, which has a huge bright pink wall-- perfect for #OOTD shots in Toronto's west end.

Inside was filled with stunning plants. As I am moving out and getting my own place this spring, I was keeping an eye out for the types of plants that I want to include in my future home.

Now, onto the swatches!

Wearing "01 Keep It Real"

Wearing "02 Shh, Just Kiss Me"

Wearing "03 Flirtylicious"

Wearing "05 Heartbreaker"

(There is an additional shade that I do not have: "04 Sweet Dreams" which is a peachy shade)

This lipgloss is very thick, sticky and pigmented. It felt nourishing and hydrating, with a very glossy look. I don't know if I would wear these to work, but they had an average wear time, and in my opinion would be perfect for a casual Sunday look. I found the brighter colours settled into my lips and needed to be touched up more frequently.

This lipgloss comes in a tube with a standard plastic angled tip with a little hole in it.  It can be easy to squeeze out too much product-- remember that with this, a little goes a long way!

My favourite shade in this collection is "Keep It Real".  This nude is super wearable and looks very flattering on my skin tone.

These lip glosses retail for $4.49
