The Best Stocking Stuffers for Her | 2017

Stocking stuffers are simply my favourite gifts to buy. There is something special about curating a delightful selection of goodies for somebody you love, where each item is selected with care. Its not about getting the biggest or most expensive gift -- its about getting a bunch of little things that show how well you know the giftee. I can't wait to one day have a family of my own to "help Santa" create stockings for. In the mean time, enjoy this gif guide that I put together with the ladies in my life (& me!) in mind!

For the lips

Lipsticks, lip balms, lip anythings always make for a great addition to any stocking. Lip balms are great when winter rolls around to help protect and sooth chapped lips. If you are on a budget, the Burt's Bees Beeswax Bounty Fruit Mix ($12.99) (similar) is a great little set with four uniquely flavoured balms-- my favourite is the Coconut & Pear! If you are looking to splurge a little bit, or are looking for a gift to share, the Fresh Pretty in Pink ($30) is a neat little set. It comes connected, but as you can see, it is easy to seperate into three gifts (perhaps one for you, one for mom, and one for grandma!). I am obsessed with these mini lip balms, they are luxuriously balmy, with a subtle scent and tint, that do a remarkable job at keeping my lips soft.

In terms of colour, my two favourite sets are by Stila and Quo. The Stila "Sheer Delight Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick" ($26) (similar) contains three mini liquid lipsticks. Sheer Morello (a new shade!), Patina, and Fiery. Patina is a super flattering neutral and Fiery is a pretty red. Quo's "Luxury Lipstick Wardrobe" ($30) is exclusive to Shoppers Drug Mart. This pretty little set comes in an easy to wrap box and contains two matte and two satin lipsticks (all full sized!). Perfect for somebody keen to grow their lipstick collection!

I'm not the only one loving this lipstick set from Quo. It made my friend Brianne's gift guide too!

Something Sweet

I am convinced that my makeup collection addiction started way back in kindergarden when I was first exposed to all the colours and flavours that Lipsmackers could come in. Mix in a Coca Cola collaboration and you have a Christmas treat for the young and young at heart. This could be a fun novelty gift, or something for a younger girl to enjoy. Given the affordable price point (I haven't been able to find it exactly but it is under $10) you can pick up a few flavours (and even hang them on the tree!). While I could probably fill a post with chocolates that you could gift, I am a big fan of Purdy's Mini Hedgehogs ($13.50). I love the full sized ones too, but the minis are a great size to gift, and I love the chocolate to chocolatey filling ratio. If your giftee loves dark chocolate, you are in luck because exclusive to the holidays, Purdy's has released dark chocolate hedgehogs!

My friend Jill has created a gift guide dedicated to chocolate if you are looking for some sweet inspiration!

Healthy Skin Is Always In

I love gifting skin care during the holidays. While makeup is an absolute blast, it means nothing if you aren't taking care of your skin. David's Tea has a genius collection of tea infused hand creams and lip balms. Their Sleigh Ride Tea Infused Beauty Duo ($12) includes a small hand cream and lip balm infused with their apple, pineapple & hibiscus blossom tea. Pixi Beauty has become one of my favourite brands this year. Their "Peel & Reveal" ($20) includes a mini Glow Tonic, Rose Flash Balm, and Peel & Polish. Perfect for the Pixi enthusiast looking for travel sized products (me!) or for somebody interested in trying out the brand. Soap and Glory has an adorable little hand cream and food cream duo for $12. I have been keeping this hand cream at my desk at work, and the foot cream by my bed to enjoy after a long day. Both Soap & Glory and Pixi Beauty can be found at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Makeup makeup makeup

While I always love receiving makeup, I think that gifting quality tools is always a great idea. Not only will they use these for years to come, but they also don't expire (which is great for those who maaaaaaaaybe have too much makeup). The Real Techniques Flawless Base Set ($27.99) has four brushes, with everything you need to do your foundation, blush, bronzer, and highlight. I love how soft these brushes are! Tweezerman's Glam Up Gift Set ($47) includes a lash curler and a quality pair of tweezers -- perfect for keeping brows in check. Benefit's Get The Party Started Cheek Palette ($27) includes a mini Hoola, Galifornia, and Watts Up. Packaged in the cutest little palette, I love this for travel! When filling out a stocking I always like to include some useful "filler" items -- products that are king of large, not too expensive, and useful. Neutrogena's All In One Makeup Removing Cleansing Wipes (~$10) are a reliable option for removing makeup and not irritating skin.

Something Extra

I could wander the lifestyle section of Indigo for hours on end. and every time I go I end up finding a wonderful little gift or two. The Voluspa Mini Decorative Tin Candle in Bourbon Vanille ($12) has a wonderfully warm vanilla scent in a cute little round tin. I am also loving the Diamond Pen ($19.95). Plated in 24k gold and topped with a huge (though sadly not real) diamond, this pen is perfect for the girl in your life who is a little extra, a little girly, or maybe even engaged!

What do you love putting in stockings? And of course, what do you love to receive?

(almost) Everything in this gift guide was sent for review purposes. Opinions remain my own, and I would be thrilled to gift any of these to my loved ones. The Purdy's chocolates were purchased with my own money.
