Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick in Venezia

Last week I stopped by Shoppers Drug Mart on my lunch break to drop off a prize at the post office.  I got suckered into walking through the Beauty Boutique and long story short, here I am reviewing another matte red-orange lipstick.  The world is indeed a marvellous place!  Well, really the special part of the story is that I only left with one product, and it wasn't one of their new Aqua Glow Blushes (though that just might happen next week.).  Anyways Stila has a beautiful new summer launch including four new All Day Liquid Lipsticks.  I already own their classic and true red Beso, and I love the formula.  I'm happy to say Venezia is just as beautiful and long lasting.

A number of years ago I was in Venice and a rather scary man was trying to get me to buy a "genuine" Chanel bag off him on the street.  I said no, and he bartered with me.  I said no again and I walked away.  Well, he followed me through nooks, crannies, and over bridges through Venice when he caught my friend and I in a corner, threatening us with his friends if we didn't buy a purse.  My friend started yelling at him, they almost got in a fight, and I never spoke to a knock off purse man again.  So that's my Venice story.  Every lipstick needs a story.

This liquid lipstick has a classic doe foot applicator, and comes with a pretty gold handle and detailing.  While the applicator can be a bit awkward, once you get the hang of it it is easy to guide it along your lips for the perfect, crisp line. This lip stick retails for $29 at Shoppers, Sephora and Murale.

Stila advertises this product as "A highly-pigmented, liquid lipstick that's weightless on the lips and delivers long-lasting coverage. "  I agree with their claim that this lipstick is both weightless and long-lasting.  While on hot, sticky days I can feel it on my lips, and would prefer something glossier, on an average day this lipstick super lightweight and almost impossible to feel it on.  It packs a punch, lasting a full work day with light eating and drinking.

With a fresh application it is easy to create a sharp line without the use of a lip liner.  I love how bold this colour is, and how opaque the application is.  One swipe and my lips are covered, with no need for a second coat.  While it is initially shiny, it dries to a nice satin matte with in seconds.  Once its dry, your lips aren't going anywhere!

After a long day at work, lunch, and tea!

When I got home from work the lipstick had faded to an even stain-- no ring of death!  While obviously not as flawless as when I left the house, it is passable, making this a low-maintenance high-pigment lipstick.  Love it!

I don't know about you, but I am in love with this lipstick and with Stila's Summer 2015 launch.  I would love to pick up one of their new cheek glows, and maybe even another lipstick.  *sigh* If only the PR Gods would smile upon me and gift me with the whole set.  Haha a blogger can dream, right?
