1. What got you into blogging?
That's a fun way to start. I have always loved make up, and sharing tips and samples with my girlfriends. I came to a point about two years ago when I was spending all of my time on school and work and I felt I needed a creative outlet just for me. I loved the idea of creating a space online, just for me, to practice my writing, to enjoy photography, and to enjoy the products that I use every day. Eventually I changed my blog name (originally Maple Leaf Beauty or something) found the CBB (and with it a wonderful network of likeminded bloggers) and learned a few things about coding. Oh! I also started it so I could learn the very basics of coding. Anyways I wanted to create my own creative space, and it just grew from there. I feel so amazed by how many other women decide to drop by my little creative space every day and decide to enjoy my make up with me, so thanks ladies!
2. What is your favourite makeup brand?
Such. a. hard. question. I am really torn. I love love love love love Dior for their timeless class, but I also love Benefit for their fun, vintage products. I use Dior Nude Skin "010" every day! Couldn't live with out it.
3. What is a colour you love, but just can't pull off (makeup, clothes, accessories)?
What if I just said I can pull off every colour? ;) I really love how delicate pale yellow is, for say, a nice blouse, but it never quite looks right on me. Also genuinely purple lipstick. Nope.
4. Where is your favourite place in the city/town you live?
My favourite place to simply hang out is Yorkville in downtown Toronto. I love the little shops, restaurants, and cafes.
5. What app can't you live without? (Alternatively, what piece of tech can't you live without?)
I couldn't live with out my unlimited nation wide calling. #longdistancerelationshipprobs Not quite an app, but I use my phone a lot.
6. Name a place you've always wanted to go, but haven't yet. (Alternatively, name your favourite place that you have gone.)
A place that I have always wanted to go, but haven't yet is the Greek islands. I love Greek food, and the whole Mediterranean vibe. As for me favourite place that I have been? I had such a loving and peaceful week in Ireland last year with my boyfriend at my side. The scenes were beautiful and the food was so good.
7. What's your favourite ice cream flavour?
Mint Chocolate Chip <3 I had a "just because" ice cream cone the other day from Purdy's at Toronto's Union Station while I was waiting for my GO Train.
8. What's a topic you haven't blogged about, but would maybe do it if you had the opportunity?
I would love to do more single product reviews but sometimes I feel like there are only so many ways to say that a product is nice.
9. What's your favourite makeup item/category?
Blush! Or lipstick! Both? Combo lip-cheek products?
10. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a vet, a princess, a fairy princess vet with Rapunzel hair, I wanted it all! Now I think I am more interested in the PR world-- I really enjoy planning quality events, advertising, and coming up with solutions to problems.
11. What's your secret talent?
I can twist my fingers in pretty weird positions. Its actually kinda pretty gross-- according to other people. I think its neat!
Here are my questions:
1. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
2. What is your favourite drug store beauty brand?
3. What about your favourite high end beauty brand?
4. If you were to create a three product face, what products would it be and why?
5. If you had to blog about something other than beauty, what would it be and why?
6. Who is your role model?
7. Where did you go on your last vacation? Where are you going next?
8. What is your least favourite beauty product that you have ever tried?
9. If you could have a $10 000 shopping spree in any city, which would it be and why?
10. Thoughts on SnapChat?
11. Do your friends know that you are a beauty blogger?
I tag the following lovely and talented ladies: Samantha of Gemstone Beauty, Katie of The Girl With The Bambi Eyes, Andy from A Certain Romance, Katherine at The Green Bows, and Sarah from Tea & Luxe
It's really awesome to be able to run the blog as a personal creative space where you can be yourself and still share that with so many people. ♥ Thanks for doing the tag! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you for your encouraging words :) I had so much fun doing it!
DeleteI know what you mean about single product reviews. I do think they are helpful though for people who are just looking for a quick yes-or-no. Before I started blogging, I used blogs to check out if I should buy a product or not. But at the same time, for regular readers, it's not really a great way to build engagement. Hmmmmm
ReplyDeleteExactly! They are super helpful-- esp when you can provide swatches to compare to other similar products. I still use blogs to make quick decisions while at Sephora, my goal is to build a better mix so that way everybody can get some value out of this :)
