This weekend I caked more makeup on my face than I have in a while in my pursuit of looking just like my latest obsession: The Snapchat Deer Filter. My costume was so good that the next morning my boyfriend's best friend texted me "I thought your snapchat deer was just a Snapchat filter until I saw your Insta story". Only downside? Layers of foundation, powder and face paint left my skin asking for some TLC the next morning. Today I am sharing with you some of my favourite products for your post-party face (plus a little giveaway to help you along!).
This year for Halloween I decided to go as my favourite Snapchat filter. Originally I was going to go all out and follow the tutorial I posted. Buuuut then I got home from a busy busy day and I was SO tired, and I was pretty happy with what my makeup looked like. So basically I just piled more makeup on top of what I already had going on, and then headed off to the party.

Make-Up Removal
While most days I like to use my beloved Bioderma, as you can see, there was a lot going on on my face. Micellar water just wasn't going to cut it, so I started my post party skin care with Make Up For Ever's Sens'Eyes. I squirted a generous amount on two cotton rounds and gently pressed them on my eyes and nose to get rid of most of the heavy makeup. I then followed up with some micellar water to really make sure my face was clean.
Hydration Nation
After an evening of layers of powder on my face, and perhaps an adult beverage or two, my skin was asking for some hydration. Caudalie's Grape Water has a wide nozzle that covers my face with hydration in one easy spray. It acts as an anti-inflammatory, and soothes rosacea, reduced redness and calms rashes. It has all sorts of uses, but I love using it after I take off my make up. It just feels so good! I also love using it in the morning.
But sometimes you need a little more...
While I am all about my skin care, sometimes you need some makeup to get you back looking your best. Between heavy makeup and some drinking, your skin can be left a little red. Dermalogica's UltraCalming Redness Relief Primer helps create the perfect neutral canvas. It has a thicker texture, and a mossy green colour. Once you rub it into your face the product isn't intimidating- it blends in well and leaves my face feeling soft. I like to apply my Smashbox BB Water on top to give my skin a break from heavy makeup.
Put a mask on.
Get it? Like you did on Halloween, only this one is for your skin. #sopunny Caudalie's Instant Detox Mask is my go-to when I want to unclog my pores. I love seeing it get to work on my nose, and how it leaves my skin feeling pure, but not tight or dehydrated. This mask is gentle but powerful-- just the way I like it. Also great for when my skin is feeling a little dull. Can you tell that Caudalie is one of my favourite skincare brands?
Wipe it off
These Juicy Bamboo face wipes are my current obsession. They smell so fresh and tropical, that wiping my face is a next level experience that I actually take my sweet time doing, because :) They are hydrating, work as a toner, and I find to be slightly brightening. Right now I love using them to wipe off my excess face oil in the morning, but I also love using them after a face mask to clean up any little bits that get left behind.
So there you have it! My little TLC routine for my face after a big make up night. Let's just say that once holiday parties get going that this routine will be making a come back, with some extra hydration.
What do you do to give your skin some TLC!
One lucky winner will win these two gifts from Dermalogica. Sorry-- candy not included!
ALSO-- Dermalogica has been kind enough to offer me a little giveaway that unfortunately I can only extend to my Ontario readers. So for my rest-of-Canada & International friends, check out my 3rd Blog Birthday Giveaway posted in October 2016, and my 500 Subscriber giveaway on my channel (ClassyOnTheRun).
