Sephora Favourites Give Me Some Lip

Sephora Favourites makes some of my favourite holiday sets.  And, while I have had this set for a little while (is it holiday shopping if I purchase it in October?  September?) I am finally ready to review it.  This set has been in and out of stock, but I still think a review is worthwhile since all of these products can be purchased individually in their full size should you be interested.  So, let's get going.

Sephora Favourites Give Me Some Lip

This set retails for $30 CAD on Sephora's website.  You can check if it is in stock here.  The pink cardboard lip box comes with one full sized lipstick (Tarte) and five deluxe sample sized products. I love sets like this because it gives me a chance to try a few products that I am interested in, and a few products that are new to me.  This set is great because it includes lipsticks, liquid matte lipsticks, stains, balms, glosses.  Everything.  There really is something for everybody in this set, and if there is girl/lady on your Christmas list I am sure she would be happy to find this under the tree (if it comes back in stock).

Tarte Coral Blossom Swatch

Tarte Coral Blossom Swatch

The full sized lipstick in this set is Tarte's Amazonian Butter Lipstick in "Coral Blossom".  This lipstick is semi-sheer with one coat, but build-able.  It has a nice luminous sheen to it with out being too much.  In terms of the broader coral family I would say that this lipstick is more of a pink coral than an orange coral.  This lipstick does not really say "winter" to me, but it does say "winter beach vacay!"...and "spring".  It says spring.  So while I haven't been wearing it much lately, I can't wait to wear it in Cuba or in the spring.  I love the buttery formula.

Fresh Sugar Treatment Rose Swatch

Fresh Sugar Treatment Rose Swatch

Fresh makes some fantastic lip treatments, and Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment is perhaps their most iconic.  This is a fair sized mini.  This is probably the butteriest lip balm I have ever used, and because of how soft it is you actually go through a fair bit of product with each use.  With regular application there is no reason that one would not finish a mini treatment over the course of a season.  This treatment literally saves my lips in the winter.  When it gets blisteringly cold I will apply some before I go outside and then apply it again before I go to bed.  Smells heavenly.  Feels heavenly.  Looks pretty.  All is good in the world.

Marc Jacobs Peony Swatch

Marc Jacobs Peony Swatch

I think that Marc Jacob's Le Marc Lip Creme in "19-Peony" is actually my favourite in the whole set.  First, look at how drenched that colour is.  It feels moisturising, and is packed with pigment.  Everything about this colour is right up my alley, and when I finish this mini I would entirely buy a replacement.  I've never really been big on Marc Jacob's make-up line ever since I bought a blush and found it woefully under pigmented.  However, after this I think I can give him a second chance. One more time...that colour <3

Make Up forever Artist Plexi Gloss 202 Swatch

Make Up forever Artist Plexi Gloss 202 Swatch

I was so excited to test out this soft pink lip gloss after reading other CBBers review the formula.  I love ho wide the applicator is, it makes application a dream.  Make Up Forever Artist Plexi Gloss is their latest lip gloss launch.  202 is a semi sheer light pink that I feel so pretty in.  The formula is pretty thick, but not sticky.  More gooey?  I like it.  The only downside with this sample is that I can imagine it will be hard to get every last drop of product out.  Either way this is a great way to try a new product.  I have also been seeing this mini pop around as a 100 point perk.

KVD Lolita Swatch

KVD Lolita Swatch

Me wearing Lolita.  I think it is a bit too dark & grey for my liking.  I do like it with my green eyes though...

Ah, the infamous cult favourite: Kat Von D's Lolita.  So I have had this on my list forever and was so excited to get to try it in this set.  And then I put it on, and actually did not like it.  So I was glad I had the chance to try it and then know not to buy it!  I love how it feels on, and it is super long lasting.  My issue is I think this colour is too dark and too grey for me.  I just don't feel pretty wearing it.  And shouldn't you feel pretty wearing lipstick?  At the end of the day this just isn't my style.

Sephora Rouge Infusion Peony

sephora favourites give me some lip lip stain peony

Finally, Sephora Collection's Rouge Infusion The Neutrals in 19-Peony.  Peony seems to be a popular shade name, though nobody seems to know what it means.  Consider how bright and pink Too Faced's Melted Lipstick in Peony is compared to Marc Jacobs compared to this.  But I digress.  This stain has a bit of an odd scent.  It lasts a long time once it has a chance to settle from a gloss to a stain.  The colour is flattering and I like it.  I don't think I would buy the full size, but I like the sample.

In conclusion, I am really thrilled with this $30 set, and I hope it comes back in stock so more people can buy it.  I think my favourite product is the Marc Jacobs lipstick because I was surprised at the quality, and in love with the colour.  I was also glad to try Lolita.  I think this set is great for gifting to all ages-- there really is something for everybody in this set and the box is so sweet.

Did you pick up this set?  What was your favourite?
