Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette

Too Faced is known for their Chocolate Bar palettes (which I admit to never having used, but they are totally on my 2016 list after getting this palette!).  They include a great range of neutrals and brighter shades, and smell like chocolate.  What's not to love?  When they released this palette I knew what I was going to spend my $25 Sephora VIB Rouge voucher on!

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette

The Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette retails for $59 CAD.  It comes in a classic pink metal tin with embossed hearts, and contains sixteen (16) separate eyeshadows (most of which are shaped like hearts.  To say Too Faced hit it out of the park in terms of packaging would be an understatement.  This palette is entirely adorable-- and totally functional.  It includes a good sized mirror and literally smells like warm hot chocolate every time you open it.  They have also included a Glamour Guide which is great for those just getting their feet wet with eyeshadow, but I think I am just going to play with this palette as I wish!  So far I have created one "signature" look which I will share at the end of this post!

How pretty is that?

I love that they included a matte and a shimmer highlight/base shade that is significantly larger than the other shadows.  This is great in terms of functionality.  In my original Urban Decay Naked Palette I have hit pan on Virgin, and that's about it!  The two base shades are about as long as my little finger, and each heart is about the size of the pad of my thumb.

Sixteen shades of beautiful.

Top row, left to right:

Almond Truffle is one of my favourite shadows in this palette.  I would describe it as a matte mid-toned mauvey-taupe.

Satin Sheets is also available in Too Faced's Boudoir Eyes Soft & Sexy Eyeshadow Collection.  This pink champagne shimmer is a great base shadow, or to pop under your brows and in the inner corner of your eyes.  In a pinch you could even use this as a highlighter.

Sprinkles is a satin/matte baby pink.

Molasses Chip is actually my favourite shadow in the palette. This is a stunning rosey bronze foiled metallic that just applies like a dream.

Malted makes me think of the Maltese puppy I want.  Haha but in terms of an eyeshadow is it a nice dark chocolate brown with golden sparkles.

Middle row, left to right:

Cashew Chew is a beautiful soft matte taupey-pink.  I like to use this in my crease for a more low-key look.

Cotton Candy is a shimmery satin bubble gum pink.  I think this would be a great lid shade.

Café Au Lait is a beautiful silver satin.

Bordeaux is a classic warm matte chocolate brown.  Mmm....wine.

Mocha is a wonderful matte mid-toned cool brown.

Black Currant is a dark purple, warmed up with pink/gold glitter.

Bottom row, left to right:

Dark Truffle is a dark brown with multi-dimensional bronze glitter.

Pecan Praline is a matte grey taupe.  I've been getting lots of use out of this one!

Totally Fetch first of all, the name kills me.  Mean Girls is literally a cultural icon.  And I love it.  Get in loser.  We're going shopping.  Okay now that that's out of my system, I know Regina George would totally approve of this satin matte hot pink with a but of blue lean to it, but......

Thanks Regina.

Earl Grey is a cool teal-grey satin shadow.

Divinity is an ivory matte shadow that makes for a great base or highlight.

Over all I find every shadow to be easy to work with, and long lasting.  There is a fantastic mix of neutrals, brights, mattes and shimmers.  What a great palette!  I was a bit hesitant to purchase this palette based on Sephora's dark and grey cast photos, but I am so glad I did!

Each shadow has been swatched x2 with no primer or base.

My newest signature look:

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Molasses Chip Swatch

Since getting this palette last week I have worn some variation of this look to three separate parties, including tonight for Christmas Dinner!

Primer/Base: MAC Paint Pot in "Paintery".

Almond Truffle applied lightly over my whole lid, and then several layers built up along my crease. Bordeaux applied to my outer crease. Molasses Chip patted on to my eyelid to build a bit of a foiled texture.  Satin Sheets under my brows and on the inner corner of my eyes.
