Content Creator swag bag.

A few months ago I had the opportunity to attend Generation Beauty as a Content Creator as a member of ipsyOS.  During the weekend I posted my Day 1 review. I am here today (quite late-oops) with my thoughts on Day 2.

quo makeup review

Recently Quo sent me some products to test and review, and today I am here with some reviews of their products, and a "FOTD" that I put together for a casual summer day.  I am also going to be talking about which make-up products I will be leaving at my boyfriend's parent's house for the summer-- because anybody who has frequent weekend trips will probably agree that packing and unpacking makeup every Friday & Monday just takes up way too much time.

purlisse sheet mask review

I’m back today with another pair of goodies from Generation Beauty Toronto.  Now, I can’t remember how exactly these ended up in my Gen Beauty pile/bag (basically all of my Gen Beauty swag is in a pile in my room right now), but they did, and I am excited to be sharing them with you today.

My Trip To Seaworld*

Last month I had the opportunity to cross something off my bucket list: travelling to California. What started as adding on a few days in LA, staying with a friend before going to Vancouver for work somehow snowballed into LA, San Diego, San Francisco and then Vancouver and then home!  I am planning on doing a little post about my trip, but while I was away a few different attractions were kind enough to offer me tickets to some attractions in exchange for review.  First up I wanted to share a bit with you about my trip to Sea World (which I called Marine Land half of the time...clearly I am from Ontario!)

Prom Tutorial | Purple Smokey Eye

in

Prom Season is well underway, and while my prom was 5 years ago (where did the time go?!), I thought it would be fun to put together a prom makeup look-- though if you are going to a glamorous wedding or a fancy gala dinner I think this would look good too.  When I went to prom I did a look based around a peacock feather-- gold, teal, etc.  This time around I thought I would focus around my current favourite eyeshadow family: mauves & purple.

NUDESTIX Gel Colour Lip + Cheek Balm

nudestix gel lip and cheek balm rebel luxe posh

Last month I had the opportunity to attend Generation Beauty, and today I am sharing my first product review from the swag I was fortunate enough to receive.  I try my best to be very open about which products I paid for, and which products were sent to me from PR, but this set of products really stumped me.  See, I used my Gen Beauty “coupon” to redeem for Posh, ended up with Rebel in my Content Creator bag and then purchased Luxe at a discount from Nudestix at their vendor table from their very own Taylor.  Keep reading for swatches and my review of these lovely lippies!

This year I have assigned myself the most fun project I could come up with: every month I am purchasing a new single MAC eyeshadow with the intent of building my own complete, cohesive palette filled with colours perfectly suited to my tasted, style, and preference.  Keep reading to see where I'm at in this project, and follow along to see where I go next!

Bite Beauty | Amuse Bouche Gazpacho & Rhubarb

bite beauty Amuse Bouche Gazpacho Rhubarb review

A few months ago Bite Beauty announced that they were discontinuing their (very popular) Luminous Crème line.  Like many Bite fans I went through the Five Stages of Loss & Grief, with one caveat.  First I was excited to see them in the Sephora sale section, then I was in denial (they can’t be doing this to me!), anger (how could they?!?), Bargaining (Well at least they are on sale… maybe the new product will just be a slight tweak…maybe it’s just new packaging? Why would they change the packaging?! I love the packaging…), Depression (But I loved that lipstick…) and finally Acceptance.  Only when I say “acceptance” what I really mean is “wow are these fantastic”.

How I Get Through Long Flights

tips for surviving long flights

I love travel about as much as I love beauty, the difference is that I can afford to spontaneously buy a higher end lipstick on my lunch break.  I'm not quite at the point that I can do that with a trans-Atlantic flight (one day... #goals). While I've flown a fair bit over the last few years, I have yet to perfect packing light.  Thankfully, I have perfected just about every other aspect of achieving maximum comfort while soaring through the clouds.
