colour pop eyeshadows

Recently I made a (kind of) big Colour Pop order.  As mentioned, I divided my post into three parts. You can read about my blushes and highlighters review here featuring Birthday Suit, Butterfly Beach and Rain.  So far I am in love with the spongey texture of the products.  They swatch well, last all day, and are so affordable ($5 USD each!) that they are the perfect solution to buying brighter bold shadows you may not wear often.  The only downside?  Shipping to Canada costs an arm and a leg!

But actually, how stunning are these?

Amaze, Lala

At first glance they look pretty similar.  But let me tell you, Amaze is quite the glitter bomb.

Flamingo -- yes I ordered two!  Not sure what to do with the second ;)

Amaze is a super glittery soft gold, where as Lala is a shimmery bronze.  Both look great gently patted all over the lid if you are going for a natural summery bronze look (well, as natural as gold eyelids can get!).  Flamingo is a real stunner.  This limited edition, turquoise tie dye beauty is loaded with both pigment and glitter.  Too Shy is less pigmented than I anticipated, but the near iridescent quality more than makes up for it!  Coconut rounds out my order as a deeper shimmery navy that can be easily blended into every day looks to create something ready for summer patio drinks!

I must say that my favourite shadows are Amaze and Flamingo.  Amaze is a great every day shadow that is beyond fool-proof to apply, and Flamingo is a perfect fun summery shade for weekends and time with friends.

Just like ColourPop's blushes, these shadows have a spongey texture to them that make it beyond imperative that you screw the caps on tightly after each use.  The texture means that these are super easy to apply with your fingers on the go (I like to leave an everyday blush and shadow in the car for those mornings that you just don't have the time!).  Using a brush can leave you with a pretty, sheer wash of colour if that's what you are going for.

Me wearing Flamingo!  Applied by gently tapping my fingers (loaded with product) on my lids.

All in all, I am super impressed by these little shadows.  Have you ever ordered from ColourPop before?  What are your thoughts?
