Yeeeeaaaahhh...so I forgot about this review. The bag came in. I opened it. I thought it was nice. And then I put it in the mythical box of things to review where it just...chilled. So, before I can procrastinate another second...my October ipsy bag:
As for the Nourish Organic Pure Hydrating Argan Face Serum, I put it directly in my gifting pile. Looks like a great little stocking stuffer. I've tried this brand through ipsy before, but as I have said literally every time I get a skin care product: I have my skin routine. It works for me. I don't want to mess with it.
I was pretty excited about getting the tarte deluxe LipSurgence lip gloss in "Energy". I am a huge fan of tarte blushes, and was excited to try this self-adjusting gloss. As you can see from my swatch, it is a pretty neutral gloss. On me it is a rosy pink. I'm glad I got this for novelty's sake but I don't think I would purchase the full size.
I don't have much to say about the eye liner. It is kind of painful to apply--I prefer a gel formula. Maybe one day subscription boxes will stop sending such generic items?
I was the most excited about theBalmCosmetics Mary-Lou Manizer. this honey-hued highlighter really packs a punch both on my cheek bones and on my eyelids. Seriously super impressed. My only complaint is how small it is! Really more the size of an eye shadow than a highlight. I really have to work the brush over it to get an even application.
How cute is it?
So overall, I liked this bag. But I liked it in the sense that I either loved an item, or I didn't. My satisfaction between theBalm and tarte outweighs any "meh" feelings I have over other items. The CAD is stinging me at $20 per bag, so I would love to see the CAD go up relative to the USD. I like the gold bag and hope to use it over the holidays.
