My (Uninspiring) Birchbox | May 2015 (+rant)

Anybody else been feeling uninspired by recent Birchboxes?  I had such high hopes, thinking it would be just like the American box, but its the same few brands on repeat, the same drab colours, and the same general products.  I swear I will cancel once I get redeem all of my points for something great (like The Balm).

Yesterday I posted my February review (sorry for the delay!  Sometimes real life comes before blog life xoxo :* ), and today I am really excited to share my March box.  After a kinda bleeeeeh February, I am really happy with this month, and hope that the trend continues!  How pretty was the box this month?

Birchbox Canada | January 2015

This is Birchbox Canada's second box, and I am still making up my mind on the box. I am sure they are still feeling out the Canadian market and developing an understanding of our preferences.  I hope they have learned from Target's approach to Canada, and their eventual closure that Canadians want comparable products to the States, but that our market preferences are still distinct.  So far I have found Birchbox to be a bit of a disappointment, but I will get into that a bit more after I review the products I received.

This month was a crazy good month for Canadian Beauty Box subscribers.  Not only did Birchbox finally make its way into the Canadian market place, but so did Glossybox!  I don't know what this means for Topbox and Luxebox, but the laws of economics mean one of two things will happen. Either they will step up their game, or they will bleed clients and eventually close.  Or, the Birchbox and Glossybox will go back home.  The only reason I do not include Ipsy in this equation is that Ipsy already competes with these two brands in the United States.  I personally don't think the Canadian beauty box market is big enough to sustain all of these companies.  We're only 1/10th of the size of our neighbours to the south.
