Recently I was presented with an opportunity to review some new cleaning cloths by Cetaphil.  I have recently taken a turn away from cleansing cloths for makeup removal in favour of Bioderma, however I do value wipes for other aspects of both my skincare routine and for the behind the scenes aspects of blogger life.

On Amazon these cloths retail for $7.32 for a pack of 25.  While I have seen other products by this brand in drugstores I have yet to see these cloths hit the shelves.

I was originally excited to try this product because I like the idea of skincare products that are skincare first, rather than makeup products that try to be skincare.  After a quick glance over their website I was pleased to see that they are in the pharmaceutical industry, and so they really do know what they are talking about when they talk skincare.

As I mentioned, I don't really use wipes for make-up removal, because I hate the tugging sensation on my lashes and I hate how it leaves my skin red from the rubbing.  However, wipes do have a valued place in my skincare routine.  Every night after I remove my makeup I apply a face oil.   In the morning most of it has absorbed into my skin but there is always a bit left.  I like to use a wipe to remove that and give my skin a fresh start in the morning.

Now, these wipes do not claim to be purely for make-up.  They are great for when you are on the go, perhaps coming home from the gym, camping or a road trip.  I have also used them after a workout at the gym and found they did a great way freshening up my skin and removing my (gross) post cardio sweat.  I have also used them to help get some oil and grease off my hands from an incident at work where I offered to help somebody move their office around.

I was doing swatches for another post (that you will see soon!  Promise!) when I decided that I would test out their ability to remove makeup, and how my skin felt afterwards.

Too Faced Eyeshadow Swatches

I took one swipe down my arm with medium pressure starting at the top.  Most of the shadow was removed, as you can see, however there was some staining that I was able to remove with a little bit of rubbing.

Proof!

The thing that I am most excited to report isn't that most of the make-up was removed, but rather is that my skin felt soft and fresh afterwards.  Not red from rubbing, or annoyed from harsh fragrance or ingredients.  These cloths were exactly what they claimed to be: fragrance free and gentle.

Final Thoughts

While I would not go out of my way to get these for make-up removal, I love using them to remove swatches, especially on days that I have a lot of swatching to do.  I also really enjoy using them after working out at the gym and in the morning to remove excess face oil.  In both cases they clean away the dirt and oil and leave my skin feeling clean and fresh.  I could imagine these would be great for camping or travel for those very reasons!

Contest

Cetaphil was kind enough to offer me 10 (ten!!!) deluxe sized packages to give away, each with a total count of 10 wipes.  The perfect size to toss in your gym bag, your carry on, or even your beach bag (I could imagine these being fantastic for getting sand out of all the places it ends up at the beach!).

This contest is open to Canadian and US residents.  To enter please fill out the following form!  I will announce and contact the winners on July 10th.  The prize will be sent directly from Cetaphil.  Good luck everybody!
