colour pop haul review 2017

Recently Colour Pop had a promotion on for free international shipping at $30 (rather than the usual $50) USD. While Colour Pop is wonderfully priced, shipping and the USD/CAD conversion can make it a bit harder for us Canadians to justify. I decided to take this chance to stock up on some old favourites, and try out some of their newer products!

First in my cart was their brow pencil in Dope Taupe. Retailing for $5 USD this brow pencil is the best budget brow pencil I have ever used. I probably have four back ups and have used up two or three since I first started using it. When it comes to my brows I strongly prefer a light to medium brown with warm undertones. Cool undertones looks ashy on me and I just don't like it. My hair has a bit of a red undertone (thanks to my red headed mom and her red headed parents!) so I just find the warmth more flattering. Dope Taupe is that perfect warm neutral. As for the formula it is neither too waxy nor too dry. I find I can get a few months of use of one of these pencils which for $5 USD is pretty great in my books.

Technically I got Get Paid in a recent ipsy bag that I did not blog about, so I wanted to include that in my haul. I was really impressed by how creamy the pencil was. It applies really nicely on my lower lash line. I will be picking up more of these pencils on my next order (when ever that may be!).

I picked up three more pressed shadows: Ego, Come and Get It and Double Date. At Generation Beauty LA I had the chance to swatch basically all of their pressed shadows. In short, I found that the mattes weren't much to write home about, but that the more shimmery shades were really well done. My purchases in this haul reflect that.

Colour Pop Double Date

I can't wait to wear Double Date as a pop of colour this summer-- I don't have anything like it. As for Come and Get It and Ego they are beautiful, though not unique in my collection. What can I say? I love shades like that!

Clearly I spend all of the last six weeks moving because I hadn't heard of this latest Colour Pop launch. However I noticed a girl in one of my beauty Facebook groups mention wanting to try them, so I made sure to check them out when placing my order. These lippies are smaller in size than their Lippie Stix. Lightweight, and matte, these are easy to wear and easy to build. Having tried almost all of Colour Pop's lip formulas, this is probably my favourite.

Deja Vu is a beautiful warm rose shade, while Candy Floss is more of a terracotta. Lately I have been really enjoying wearing Deja Vu to work as a part of my everyday look.

I think that the Blotted Lips and (shimmery) Pressed Shadows are the best Colour Pop products I have tried to date. I hope they come out with pressed blush, bronzers and highlighters!

What have you loved lately from Colour Pop?
