rodial makeup review

I have probably said this a thousand times, but one of my favourite things about being a beauty blogger is getting the chance to try new products from new brands and brands that you wouldn't otherwise try. A few months ago (I know! I am almost all caught up!!) Rodial was nice enough to send me some of their cosmetics (they are better known for their skin care) and I have been playing around with them ever since. Keep reading for my thoughts on these beautiful products!
I remember when this package came in because the first thing my mom asked me was if that eyeshadow palette was for her. Ummmm no it was not. Sorry mom! But this is literally all I need for a weekend away.

I wanted to start with the eyeshadow palette. It retails for $45. This palette has everything that I need: a golden shimmery shade, some matte browns, a transition shade, a base and a black to use as an eyeliner. I was really impressed by the quality of the eyeshadows and most of all by that shimmery shade. Wow!

The Smokey Eye Pen in "Brown" retails for $21 and is a very creamy and long wearing eyeliner. It is particularly good on my waterline.

The liquid highlighter pen was an interesting touch. On one hand Rodial seems to be a higher end brand for more mature audiences and on the other hand it is playing off the "Insta" trend. Either way this highlight is soft and beautiful. It is actually very wearable for every day use and blended well into my foundation. This product retails for $36.

Another highlight for me was the Suede Lips lippie in "Big Apple". Retailing at $30 this semi-matte lip crayon is comfortable and flattering. I felt it brought out the green in my eyes (can lipstick even do that?) and I think it will be one of my go-tos when fall rolls around (which I hope isn't for a very long time because it is hardly summer!)

Wearing each of the products: I also popped the liquid highlighter under my brows.

I was really happy with how each of the products wore during the day! The eyeshadow palette would have to be my favourite though. You can shop this brand at Murale and most likely also Shoppers Drug Mart. It is on the Beauty Boutique website.  I only say most likely because I have seen Rodial skincare at many shoppers but not the makeup.

Have you tried this brand yet? I would love your thoughts!

Products sent for review, opinions are my own!
