When it comes to beauty and skincare, I have a few obsessions, and one of those is definitely anything rose. I love the scent, and I also love the colour. Another thing I love? Lip products. So I've combined the two loves to share 5 Rosy Lips, or five different lip products with the word "rose" in the name.

Sunday Showcase | Julep Lip Gloss

Lipgloss was probably my introduction to the wonderful black hole that is make-up.  Well, Lipsmackers in Strawberry Kiwi, to be exact.  I should have known I would become a make-up horder as I grew up when my Lipsmacker collection exceeded 40.  Not much has changed I suppose.

I was not the most impressed with Julep launched their lipgloss collection-- anybody can make a lipgloss.  They market these having whatever special regenerating cell thingie it is that they put in everything.  Annnnyways this post is to share with you my collection of their lipglosses that I have grown to love and have acquired though mystery boxes, discount orders, and more.  

2015, Bring It On!

A new year brings in a whole new set of things to look forward to, memories to make, friends to meet and places to go to.  2015 is an exciting year for me!  I am looking forward to:

50 Shades of Grey Movie & Make-Up Review*

Last night I was lucky enough to be one of Sephora's guests at a special pre-screening of 50 Shades of Grey at the TIFF Bell Lightbox Theatre in downtown Toronto.  Even better?  I got to bring a plus one.  My friend Brianna and I had a blast.  Keep reading for our thoughts on the movie, and of course, my review of the amazing amazing amazing gift bag, which included Make Up Forever's Desire Me Cheek Trio set.  An evening with wine, free make-up, and laughing with one of my friends? The best.

Julep February Spoiler | Lipstick!

Julep just released spoilers for their February product of the month on Brydie.  I've never heard of them, but they seem to be a pretty online magazine.  Officially called "Light on Your Lips", they are described as feeling as light as a lip balm, but with a major colour pay off.  Personally, I have loved all Julep lip products that I have tried, so I can't wait to have these in my hand!  They are a crème finish that dry a bit matte.  *Swoon*

They will retail for $22 regular/ $17.60 Maven.

January Glossybox Unboxing + Lots of Sass

I am going to start this review by saying that I have cancelled my Glossybox subscription.  The novelty has worn off, and the poor value is starting to show.  If I was an American I would love to continue this box at $21 per month, but $28 for Canadians, plus exchange rate?  At $~33 a month I simply can't justify it.  I would rather buy a new Tarte blush every month, thanks all the same.  My only regret was that I cancelled it too late, and so will be receiving the February box as well.

Target Pre-Sale Haul

As I am sure everybody has heard by now, Target will be exiting Canada.  Reports say that Target could enter liquidation as soon as Thursday.  After two rough years of empty shelves, and higher than anticipated prices, Target is closing up shop here in the Great White North.  There were a few items I wanted to pick up at Target before they are difficult to find in Canada.  Last weekend my boyfriend and I spent some time wandering the isles of Target, and I came home with a small haul to share with you!

**Edit: The sale is now on, with about 30% off cosmetics.  I have heard that NYX is pretty much picked over at most locations**

The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Collection

When I first heard about this collection launching, I was pretty excited.  I love poppies.  I love The Body Shop.  I love new, Limited Edition things...really...I had to have something from this collection. As I have mentioned before, I love The Body Shop's recent launches (Honeymania and Moroccan Oil), and this was no exception!

MAC Viva Glam x Miley Cyrus

Back in the day when Miley wore a blonde wig on The Disney Channel and sometimes went by Hannah, I was a huge fan.  Intense jealousy is probably the only way I could describe my feelings towards her when news broke that she was dating Nick Jonas-- you know, the cute one.   Her ridiculously long, shiny hair was a thing of envy to me.  Getting to act on TV with your real dad playing your TV dad?  On Disney?

Those days, like her hair, are long gone.  And while she is better known today for her hit Wrecking Ball, and for her short spunky blonde cut, today we are here to talk about her lipstick.  While I am not Miley's biggest present day fan, this stunning lipstick and lipgloss duo had to be added to my collection.

February | Shopping My Stash

One of my New Years Resolutions this year was to shop my stash.  While January was a crazy month for me, I have buckled down and decided to kick it off in February.  I should note, that I did try to make better use of what I already own in January.  Just no pretty photography or such to go with it.  The whole reason I wanted to shop my stash this year is that lately I feel like I obtain make-up for the sake of having it, rather than using it. But with graduation coming up soon, and my desire to move on to the next stage of my life, I think my money would be better placed in a savings account.  That's not to say no make-up purchases, I jut want to make sure I am purchasing items that I will genuinely use and love.  

Unboxing | Julep Afterglow Collection

This order was very conflicting to me.  On one hand, I loved about half the colours.  On the other, I really, really did not love the other half.  And on my third hand, if I had one, was the tanking Canadian dollar.  Right now it is at about $0.70 USD, but some speculate it could drop as low as $0.60 USD.  This means that any order I want to make will cost about 20% more.  Ouch.  With that in mind, here is my painfully expensive January box:

Destash the Bathroom

Happy Tuesday everybody!

Late last night I got home from a weekend away visiting my boyfriend.  After a delayed train ride, and no cabs a the station when I arrived, I finally arrived home an hour and a half later than I should have.  Needless to say I had a quick warm shower, and proceeded to fall asleep in a little ball in my bed.

Bite Double Ended Lipsticks

Since Bite came to Sephora they have become one of my go-to brands for lip products.  I love the quality and workmanship that goes into their products and design, and of course, that their products are full of good-for-you ingredients.  This is not the first time that Bite has released a double ended mini lipstick-- when I saw the new release I had to have it!

Thoughts:

With the Canadian Dollar so weak right now, this box will ring in at close to $36 assuming the trend continues.  Which I think it will.  Great for drivers, not to great for cross boarder shopping!

I will already be getting two Hartleighs in my Julep order this month (one from my box, the other from my mom's box), so that item isn't much of a draw for me.  Given that I have seen that many subscribers have been blessed with 5 additional Hartleighs to give away to friends I could end up with as many as 12!   

Jelly Pong Pong makes decent mascara-- I am working on using up one right now actually.  I love the ida behind the shower gel, and am a total sucker for almond scented anything.  I'm curious about the conditioner, and indifferent to the lip butter.

Lush Valentines' Day Collection

Nobody does limited edition sets quite like how Lush does limited edition sets.  After being blown away with the amazing goodies they put together for Christmas (that thankfully, I am still enjoying!).  When I came across the Valentines Day Collection in store last week I had to pick up some goodies.  While I wanted pretty much everything (sigh) I narrowed it down to a few items I really wanted, including the beautiful "Love Birds of Africa" scarf featured above.  I'm not entirely sure what to do with it, but I just think it is so pretty.  Keep reading for my thoughts on some beautiful bath products...

Haul | Shoppers Drug Mart 20x the Points

I love Shoppers Optimum points.  The more I think about it, the more I realize that they really are the best point system.  Instead of samples (aka Sephora) they give you cash.  I worked out that if you only shop on 20x the points and other points promo days that you can get 95,000 points by spending just over $500, thus earning $170 worth of almost whatever you want at Shoppers.

Face Of The Day | Saturday Brunch

There is nothing better than being woken up at 10:00 am by your dad saying "Mom wants to go out for brunch".  "Okay, at 11?" I asked.  "No, like now."  "Well, how about in 20 minutes?" I ask.  "Sure.  But Mom is hungry so be ready in exactly 20 minutes."

I jumped out of bed, brushed my teeth and all that, came back to my room, put on something cute, and set my timer for 10 minutes. 

That's what happened to me last weekend!
